Hello! I'm currently a second-year student at AUC, majoring in Social Science. My main academic interests deal with Psychology, Neuroscience and Communication. I love how BètaBreak offers such different perspectives on those realms and allows me to encounter such passionate people!

Hello! I'm Maria, this year's vice chair, and I am a Liberal Arts and Sciences student at AUC, where I've studied physics, and recently switched to humanities. I joined BètaBreak because I'm passionate about science communication and bridging the gaps between the sciences and the humanities!

Fun fact: Quantum tunneling might explain why identically shaped molecules smell differently!

I am a third-year science student at AUC focusing on biomedical sciences. I joined BètaBreak because of my love for science, and I wanted to share that with as many people as possible. I think it is especially important to bring together people from all disciplines to approach the subjects we discuss. I hope you all enjoy the editions as much as I do!

Fun fact: You have more bacterial cells in your body than your own cells!

I am a third-year student at Amsterdam University College, studying mostly Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Fun fact: Cordyceps fungus can turn ants into zombies!

Hi! I’m Harry, a third-year Sciences student at AUC studying informatics, logic, and linguistics. My main interests lie in language modelling, digital cultures, and the philosophy of language. Super excited to see you at our upcoming events!

Fun fact: Many Indo-European languages replaced the original word for “bear” because they thought saying its name would cause a bear to appear.
