Feeding 9 billion people with sustainable and healthy food. How?! This is one of the big questions we should ask ourselves in the age of the Anthropocene. One often proposed solution is to replace conventional meat with insects, as they are a more sustainable and healthier protein option. While over 2 billion people worldwide enjoy eating insects, it still gives many of us the ick.

Join us for the next BètaBreak edition, where we will dive into the interdisciplinary topic of edible insects. Our insect-eating experts: Prof. Arnold van Huis, Dr. Daylan Tzompa-Sosa and Dr. Jonas House will answer questions such as why we should eat insects, why we still don’t, and how we could make it happen? If you’re feeling adventurous, don’t miss out on our free snacks such as crispy crickets, mealworm power bars and larvae bolognese!
